4 ways to easily test the steady voltage of a diode

1, single meter measurement
This method is suitable for the pointer type multimeter.
If the steady voltage is two times the steady voltage VZ<9V, it can be measured with a multimeter. As shown in Figure 1, the multimeter hits R * 10K (internal battery voltage E = 9V), the black pen is connected to the negative electrode, the red pen is connected to the positive pole, and the voltage stabilizer is in the reverse connection state.





A multimeter is used to measure the regulated voltage of the Vz<9V voltage regulator diode. The formula is as follows.





E is the battery voltage in the multimeter, E=9V, RDW is the reverse resistance of the measured voltage regulator, the unit is Omega, the R0 is the ohm center value of the multimeter, the unit is Omega, and the n is the resistance gear ratio (here the resistance gear is R * 10K gear, so n=10K=10000).

2, double table measurement
If the stable voltage is between 9~18V, the use of a multimeter can not meet the needs, because the voltage provided can not make the voltage regulator working in the reverse breakdown state. It can be measured in series with two tens of thousands. For the convenience of test and calculation, it is better to choose the same type multimeter. As shown in Figure 2, the test circuit is shown. Two multimeter are placed in the R * 10K file, the reverse resistance is measured, and then the formula in method 1 is used to calculate the E = 18V.





3. By means of megabyte measurement
If there is Mega ohmmeter on hand, not only can it provide an appropriate external power to overcome the shortage of the power supply voltage of multimeter itself. And make the measurement more accurate. As shown in Figure 3, we use the mega ohmmeter and multimeter to measure the voltage stabilizing diode circuit. The operation is as follows: according to the uniform speed, the output voltage of the generator will rise gradually when the mega ohmmeter is evenly distributed. When the reverse breakdown voltage of the diode is achieved, Voltage diode reverse breakdown. The voltage regulator diode enters the voltage stabilizing area. If we want to accelerate the speed of the mega ohmmeter, we must not go too fast. If the voltage is too high, the diode will not be damaged, and the reverse voltage will not increase. Even if the output DC voltage of mega meter is stable at Vz value, this value can be displayed by multimeter pointer, which is the stable voltage Vz of voltage stabilizer.




4. measurement method of external DC regulated power supply
It is believed that there are no megabytes on the hands of many people, then the continuous adjustable DC voltage regulator can be used to add to the two ends of the voltage regulator, make it hit and stable on a certain value, and then observe the indicator on the multimeter, which is the stable voltage value Vz of the measured voltage regulator.
