A rectifier diode is a semiconductor device that transforms alternating current into DC power. It has unidirectional conductivity. The detection method of the rectifier diode is as follows:
1. polarity discrimination: the multimeter is placed in the R x 100 or R x 1K gear, and the two is respectively connected to the two electrodes of the rectifier diode. After measuring a result, the two form is adjusted and then a result is measured. In the two measurement, the resistance measured at a time is large (reverse resistance), and the resistance measured at a time is small (positive resistance). In a small resistance measurement, the black probe connected to the positive electrode of the diode is connected, the red pen is the negative electrode of the diode.

2., the detection of single and negative electrical conductivity and the judgement of good or bad: usually, the positive resistance of germanium material rectifier diode is about 1K ohm, and the reverse resistance value is about 300. The resistance of silicon rectifier diode is 5 K ohm, and the reverse resistance is infinity. The smaller the forward resistance, the better the reverse resistance is. The greater the difference between positive and negative resistance values, the better the unidirectional conductivity of rectifier diodes is. If the positive and negative resistance values of rectifier diodes are all close to 0 or the resistance value is small, it is indicated that the diode has been damaged by short circuit or leakage current. If the positive and negative resistance values of diodes are infinitely large, it indicates that the rectifier diode has been damaged by open circuit.

3. reverse breakdown voltage detection: rectifier diode reverse breakdown voltage (withstanding voltage) can be measured with transistor DC parameter test table. The method is: when the diode is measured, the "NPN/PNP" selection key of the test meter should be set to the NPN state, then the "C" slot of the positive electrode test meter of the measured rectifier diode is inserted into the "e" socket of the test meter, and then the "V (BR)" key is pressed, and the test meter can indicate the reverse breakdown of the rectifier diode. Pressure value. It can also be used to measure the reverse breakdown voltage of the rectifier diode, the negative pole of the rectifier diode is connected with the positive pole of the MEM table when measuring, and the positive pole of the rectifier diode is connected with the negative pole of the MEM table. At the same time, the voltage of the diode at both ends of the rectifier is monitored with a multimeter (placed in a suitable DC voltage file).

Be careful:

1, there are many kinds of diodes, but the basic way to measure them is to ensure that the meter is fully charged when measuring.

2, after the rectifier diode is damaged, it can be replaced by the same type rectifier diode or other rectifier diodes. Usually, a rectifier diode with a high voltage value (reverse voltage) can replace a low voltage rectifying diode, while the low voltage rectifying diode can not replace the high voltage rectifying diode. A diode with high rectified current can replace a diode with low rectified current value, while a diode with low rectifying current can not replace a diode with high rectified current.
